HSK Learn Privacy Policy

1. Privacy Summary

HSK Learn is an offline-first Mandarin vocabulary app published by InnoVista Labs. The current production app has no account system, advertising, analytics, crash-reporting SDK, or developer-operated server.

HSK Learn does not collect, sell, or share personal data with InnoVista Labs. Its production Android release does not request Internet access.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

HSK Learn stores learning information locally so that its core features work offline.

• Saved words, custom saved lists, and list memberships.
• Personal meaning edits that you choose to enter.
• Custom HSK vocabulary ranges and learning-view preferences.
• Theme, pinyin, pronunciation, character, and related-word settings.
• The installed dictionary version and local database state needed to operate the app.

This information remains in app-private storage. InnoVista Labs cannot access it through an HSK Learn account or server because neither exists in the current app.

3. Pronunciation and Device Services

Bundled pronunciation recordings play locally. If a recording is unavailable, HSK Learn can send the selected Chinese vocabulary text to the text-to-speech engine configured on your device.

The speech engine is an Android system or user-installed service and follows its provider's privacy terms. It may operate locally or use its own network connection. HSK Learn does not send personal meaning edits, saved-list information, or other learning history to the speech engine and does not receive personal information from it.

4. Android Access and Permissions

The current production app does not request access to the Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, advertising identifiers, or notifications.

Android may add app-scoped permissions that protect internal application components or allow network-state checks required by included platform libraries. These do not give HSK Learn access to personal files, sensors, or Internet communication.

5. Android Backup and Device Transfer

If Android backup is enabled, the operating system may back up the local HSK Learn database and preferences to your private Android backup account only when encrypted backup is available. Android may also transfer this data directly to a replacement device.

These backups are controlled by Android and your Google account settings. InnoVista Labs cannot read, retrieve, or delete them for you.

6. Third-Party Software and Learning Assets

Open-source Flutter packages provide local database, audio, text-to-speech, preferences, navigation, and interface features. The app also includes properly attributed font, pronunciation, and stroke-order assets. These components do not add advertising or analytics to HSK Learn.

HSK Learn is an independent learning app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or presented as an official product of the HSK trademark owner or Chinese Testing International.

7. Retention and Deletion

• Local learning information remains until you edit or remove it, clear the app's storage, or uninstall HSK Learn.
• To remove all local data, use Android Settings > Apps > HSK Learn > Storage > Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
• Android-managed backups remain subject to your device and Google account backup controls.
• InnoVista Labs has no remote HSK Learn account record or server copy to delete.

8. Security and Children

HSK Learn keeps its writable learning data in app-private storage and limits Android backup to encrypted cloud backup or direct device transfer. No software can guarantee absolute security, so protect access to your device and Google account.

HSK Learn does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. The app contains no social, messaging, advertising, payment, or public-profile features.

9. Google Play Data Safety

For the current production release, HSK Learn does not collect or share user data as those terms apply to Google Play's Data safety disclosure. Learning information is processed locally, subject only to the Android backup and user-selected text-to-speech behavior described above.

10. Policy Changes and Contact

This policy will be updated before a release changes data handling, including any future feature that downloads optional assets, introduces accounts, connects to a developer server, or adds analytics or crash reporting. The effective date will be revised when that occurs.
